About this GrubKit
Pad Thai is the quintessential dish served at almost every Thai restaurant in the world. We absolutely love this classic Thai "street food" but were never quite happy enough with what we found at most restaurants. After much research, testing and sourcing some of the best available ingredients, we finally came up with a Pad Thai version that's authentic and satisfies our discerning palates.
Background / Origin
One of Thailand's national dishes. Made popular in the 1940s but has been known in various similar forms for centuries.
Flavor Profile
Sweet, spicy, salty and sour are balanced seamlessly. Note that our version is less sweet than most American restaurants'. Adjust accordingly to your taste.
Optional Add-on
All natural Thai iced tea kit: includes reusable muslin tea bag, tea leaves, whole and ground spices. Recipes for both the traditional Thai method as well as a low-sugar version (incl. Stevia natural sugar substitute) are also provided.
Allergies / Diet restrictions
Ingredients are gluten-free. Vegetarians can substitute fish sauce with soy sauce (not included).
Servings
4 generous servings. Optional Thai Iced Tea makes 6 glasses.
